Beautiful old H Couf Royalist clarinet. Herbert Couf was a musician in the Detroit Symphony, who went on to open a well known music store in MI called the Royal Music Center. The Royalist model is a student instrument - the clarinet forums suggest similar to the Buffet B-12. The instrument appears to be in good shape - all the keys are responsive with excellent spring and the pads and cork look okay, though I am certainly not an expert and some conditioning or adjustment may be required. There are a couple of cosmetic dings to the metal rim of the bell. Bears the serial number 1069. The mouthpiece is a Henri Selmer. The case is vintage - there is some wear to the finish, small tears and scuffs, but the hardware is all intact and fully functional. A lovely clarinet with a rich US history for a student with a sense of flair.
